Who We Seek
We are searching for an exceptionally driven Quality Engineer to maintain the highest quality standards in our manufacturing processes for automotive interior trim components. The ideal candidate will conduct daily required quality checks and collaborate with the Systems and Automation Engineer to implement automated quality checks that improve quality and reduce costs. A key focus of this role is leveraging AI to add value to the company. Experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) will be essential for validating production processes and ensuring product quality, while familiarity with tools like FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis), and Control Plans will support comprehensive quality management. This position requires a strong commitment to quality, a passion for innovation, and the ability to thrive independently and within a team. While automotive industry experience is a plus, we value enthusiasm, adaptability, and a proactive attitude. The role offers potential expansion into a regional position as our business grows. 


Essential Duties
  • Conduct daily required quality checks to ensure product excellence. 
  • Collaborate with the Systems and Automation Engineer to implement automated quality checks that enhance quality and reduce costs. 
  • Leverage AI technologies to improve quality control processes and add value to the company. 
  • Develop and implement quality control processes for automotive interior trim components. 
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions to address quality issues. 
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to resolve quality challenges. 
  • Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards, including IATF 16949 and ISO 9001. 
  • Lead the certification process for ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 in partnership with an external certification company. 
  • Execute automotive quality methodologies, including PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis), and Control Plans, to validate production processes and ensure product quality. 
  • Apply knowledge of injection molding and press lamination technologies to improve product quality. 
  • Potentially take on a regional role as the business expands. 
 
 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Familiarity with automotive quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001). 
  • Knowledge of injection molding and press lamination technologies is a plus. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • High emotional maturity, resilience, perseverance, creativity, and adaptability to new ideas and technologies. 
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality. 
  • Willingness to learn and innovate, particularly in automation and AI applications. 

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field). 
  • Min 3+ yrs experience with automotive quality methodologies, including PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis), and Control Plans, is required
